Sacramento, California - California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) Secretary A.G. Kawamura and the California State Board of Food and Agriculture will continue their trip throughout the state hosting public listening sessions on a California Agricultural Vision. This vision will be used to guide public policy and investment priorities at the state and national level for the next 20 years.
This important planning will affect everyone who produces, ships, processes, markets, eats, drinks or uses California agricultural products. Upcoming sessions include visits to San Luis Obispo (July 1) and Tulare (July 2). An additional evening session has been added in Oxnard on July 7.
“I encourage all segments of California’s agricultural industry to participate in these public listening sessions,” said Secretary A. G. Kawamura. “With all the challenges our industry faces – this opportunity to create and implement a blueprint for agriculture over the next 20 years is unprecedented.”
“The Ag Vision will give California agriculture the opportunity to design its future through 2030 - this will not be a document to gather dust, but an action plan to secure the viability of this industry for today and years to come,” said Al Montna, President of the California State Board of Food and Agriculture.
Public input provided at the listening sessions will assist in the development of a California Agricultural Vision – a set of public policy and investment priorities for the agricultural industry.
